PRECISION INVESTMENT (LOST WAX) CASTING: PROCESS AND CAPABILITIES

Precision Investment Casting, often still referred to as Lost Wax Casting, is based upon a form of casting practiced for thousands of years by artists. It is only however, since the early 1940's that lost wax casting has existed as a controlled engineering discipline and the advances in the last ten years in the development of new materials and techniques have seen Precision Investment Casting become the most accurate casting process in materials ranging from aluminium alloys to single crystal super alloys.
