| Stereolithography: Rapid
Prototyping & Manufacture using Bonded Starch and Printed Wax Patterns, and Laser Cured Resin Patterns  Through a unique joint venture established by RELYIntraCast we undertake rapid prototyping and manufacture using printed wax patterns, bonded starch patterns and laser cured resin patterns created by a process called stereolithography. The use of stereolithography enables the evaluation of a design and full function testing on a truly representative casting before a single cent is spent on tooling, avoiding the often costly modifications to a tool which can result from design changes. Simply this process starts with the software modelling of the customers design. The software then "slices" the design into hundreds of layers. This is then down loaded to the pattern grower, patterns which can be printed wax, bonded starch, or laser cured resin patterns.. After a matter of hours the pattern emerges. This pattern can be viewed and handled by The Customers Design Engineering Team to thoroughly evaluate their design. RELYIntraCast then processes the pattern through our shell investment moulding process and cast the item in the material of choice. This allows full functional and strength testing of the design and the accurate establishing of contraction rates for incorporation into permanent dies for volume production where this is applicable. By use of this developed technology RELYIntraCast also produces rapid tooling often incorporating cooling features previously unattainable. The casting technology, developed by RELYIntraCast has been used successfully by us to create parts for the armaments and Aerospace Industries and tooling for the die casting and blow moulding industries. With this rapid prototyping technology as well as the conventional Investment casting process RELYIntraCast is uniquely positioned to offer production volumes from one off to the hundreds of thousands. |
